Masters of the Barom Kagyu Lineage

Ngatrin Tulku Rinpoche (left) and Jamyang Lodro Rinchen (right) dedicated their lives to practicing the Buddha dharma for the sake of all beings. These are the gurus of our precious teacher, Vajra Master Sonam Rinpoche.

The fifth Ngaktrin Tulku was recognized by the 16th Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje. In 1950, at the age of eight he was enthroned at Lachab Gonpa and remained there studying until 1958. He received the New Treasures transmission from Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche and the Barom Kagyu teachings from Jamyang Lodro Rinchen.

“When the Gyalwang Karmapa visited the region where Lodrö Rinchen was born, he told the child’s mother: ‘Today, the reincarnation of the great Barom master Darma Wangchuk has appeared.’ Then, taking the child in his arms, the Karmapa performed a blessing and recognized him as the next incarnation of that Dharma King.”
